Sadly the war of words between Google and Microsoft has affected the life of an innocent man.
Jeremiah P. Hiybbprqag (formerly known as Ima Dumas) changed his name and moved to the mountains several years ago in an effort to escape childhood bullies and prank callers who harassed him incessantly. He wanted to be left alone and live a life free from the ridicule that made him an outcast.
But in a stoke of bad luck, a simple randomized search phrase has put him back into the spotlight. In a recent news story, Google and Microsoft have faced off regarding the original source of search engine results for the term “hiybbrqag.” Google claims that Microsoft’s search engine is copying their top results for some of the more obscure terms people search for.
The release of this story has generated millions of search queries for Jeremiah’s most recent last name. This of course has led to his discovery, and prompted the return of hecklers into poor Mr. Hiybbprqag’s life.
“I chose this name by closing my eyes and pecking random letters on a keyboard” said Jeremiah. “I never imagined the result would be worse than my former name.”
But perhaps there is a bright side to Hiybbprqag’s misfortune. He now has over 20,000 facebook fans and 3,000 twitter followers, which he has turned into a small fortune by “blasting them with erectile dysfunction offers.”
He might be unlucky, but he’s no Dumas.
